We are pleased to announce that, on the occasion of the Madrid Excelente Quality Seal award event, on October 7th, our architects Françoise Schneider, Mauricio Perico and Alvaro Millan will conduct guided tours of the restoration of the emblematic building of the Santa Isabel headquarters of the Official College of Doctors of Madrid (ICOMEM). These visits will take place during the event and will provide an insight into the details of the restoration process that has taken place between 2020 and 2024.
The project, carried out by our studio and directed by Luis de Pereda, has been a challenge both in terms of heritage recovery and functional updating and improvement in energy efficiency. Aware of the historical relevance of the building, we have carried out a comprehensive intervention that has allowed us to restore and preserve original elements, such as the Ramon y Cajal Classroom and the Small Amphitheatre, while at the same time modernising essential infrastructures to guarantee the environmental quality and comfort of the spaces with great energy efficiency.

During the visits, the architects behind the project will explain in detail the key aspects of the restoration, which has been carried out in phases without interrupting the activity of the college headquarters. Visitors will have the opportunity to tour spaces such as the Orlas Cabinet, the Jimenez Diaz Classroom and the Cajal Courtyard, all of which have been restored to restore their heritage value, improve their accessibility and adapt them to current needs.
This project has been a clear commitment to the fusion of tradition and modernity, in which historical research has played an essential role in guiding the interventions and ensuring that the architectural legacy of the building will endure for future generations.

Dates: Coinciding with the Madrid Excelente Quality Seal event.
Venue: Santa Isabel Headquarters, ICOMEM.
